      Journey Children's Ministry

Journey Church desires that all children be given a safe, warm environment in which to learn
Godly truths for their lives. In order to adequately serve children of all ages, our church has
tailor-made groups and activities for all age groups.

      Sunday Mornings:

      Childcare/Nursery (Birth-2 year olds) 9:00 am & 10:30 am

Childcare is provided for babies and toddlers in the Nursery during Sunday morning Life Groups (9:00 am – 10:15 am) and the Worship Service (starts at 10:30 am).

Preschool Sunday School (3-5 year olds) 9:00 am

Our Preschool Sunday School is during our Sunday morning Life Groups (9:00 am – 10:15 am) and meets in one of the Children’s Hallway classrooms.
Preschool Sunday School is during September – July, with a break in August.

Sunday School (K-5th grade) 9:00 am

Sunday School meets in the gym at 9:00 am and goes until 10:15 am. This program is during Sunday morning Life Groups.
All grades are combined for a 30 min opening of music and Bible teaching.  The children are then separated into two groups. Group A will go to art for 15 min and group B will go to games for 15 min.  Then they will switch.  The last 15 min the children have a snack and talk about what they learned that day and how to put God’s lessons into use during the week.
Sunday School is during September – July, with a break in August.

      Children’s Church (3-5 year olds) 10:30 am

Children’s Church meets in one of the Children’s Hallway classrooms and gets dismissed for class during the Worship Service, which starts at 10:30 am.
Children’s Church is staffed by volunteers who love working with little ones and want to give parents the opportunity to focus on the sermon. A short lesson, snack, craft, music, games, video, and play time are some of the activities that children enjoy each week.

      Wednesday Evenings:

      Awana (K-6th Grade) 6:00 pm  –  Starts Wednesday, September 12, 2018

Awana teaches children K-6th grade godly character centered on the gospel of Christ in order to help them learn responsibility and become mature adults. Journey Church hosts the following Awana groups on Wednesday evenings during the school year: Cubbies for 3-5 year olds in preschool that are children of our Awana group volunteers, Sparks for Grades K-2nd, and T&T (Truth & Training) for Grades 3rd-6th.

Awana is a global ministry committed to the belief that the greatest impact for Christ starts with kids who know, love, and serve Him. Awana is an acronym for Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15). It is a high-energy, disciplined, and fun program designed to teach kids (K-6th grade) about God in an exciting, safe, and kid-appropriate atmosphere.

AWANA will be cancelled IF Clinton Public Schools are cancelled due to inclement weather.

AWANA begins on 9/12 and meets EVERY Wednesday evening except when noted on the calendar.  Also, THEME Nights are listed on the calendar, so your student knows how to plan accordingly for that evening.
